More than 3,000 family members of 9/11 victims are urging former President Trump and Vice President Harris to oppose any peace deal with Saudi Arabia that fails to hold the kingdom accountable for its alleged involvement in the attack.

As the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attacks approaches, family members of the victims are renewing their demands for the United States to hold Saudi Arabia accountable for its alleged involvement in the tragedy. More than 3,000 family members have signed a letter urging both former President Trump and Vice President Harris to oppose any Middle East peace deal with Saudi Arabia unless the kingdom acknowledges and is held responsible for its role in the attack.

The families point to a video footage of a Saudi government agent "casing" the U.S. Capitol as evidence of Saudi involvement. They also cite the fact that 15 of the 19 al Qaeda hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, although the direct links of the Saudi government have remained unclear for many years.

Brett Eagleson, head of the advocacy group 9/11 Justice who lost his father in the World Trade Center, says that the families have waited 23 years for truth, justice, and accountability. He accuses the U.S. government of doing nothing to hold Saudi Arabia accountable.

Both Trump and President Biden have been pushing for a security deal that would normalize relations between Israel and the Saudis, allow for civil nuclear energy cooperation, and provide defense guarantees to counter Iran. However, that deal was put on hold after the Hamas attack on Israel last October.

The 9/11 Justice group has filed a lawsuit against the Saudi government and has urged the U.S. government to declassify all remaining documents about 9/11. However, Eagleson says that the government's efforts to review and declassify documents have not been effective.

The group has also invited both Trump and Harris to meet with them at Ground Zero on the 9/11 anniversary. However, the Harris and Trump campaigns have not responded to the invitation or commented on the allegations of Saudi involvement in 9/11.

The families are frustrated by the lack of response from the presidential candidates and the government. They are demanding that the U.S. government acknowledge Saudi Arabia's role in the attacks and take action to hold the kingdom accountable.

In addition to the video footage of the Saudi agent, the families also cite other evidence, such as financial transfers from Saudi individuals to the hijackers and contacts between the hijackers and Saudi officials. They argue that this evidence proves that the Saudi government was aware of the plot and provided support to the hijackers.

The Saudi government has denied any involvement in the 9/11 attacks and has called the allegations "baseless." However, the families of the victims believe that the evidence shows otherwise and are determined to continue their fight for justice.
