Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees hit his 50th and 51st home runs of the season on Sunday, continuing his pursuit of the American League single-season home run record.

Aaron Judge has once again proven his dominance in the Bronx, blasting his 50th and 51st home runs of the season as the New York Yankees continue their pursuit of the American League East title. With these latest long balls, Judge has firmly etched his name into the MLB history books and is now within striking distance of breaking his own American League record.

In the bottom of the first inning against the Colorado Rockies, Judge launched an 0-2 changeup from Austin Gomber into left center field. The crowd at Yankee Stadium erupted as the ball cleared the fence, giving the Yankees a 2-1 lead. This homerun marked Judge's 18th first-inning homerun of the season, tying him with former Yankee Alex Rodriguez for the most in a single season.

Just as impressive as the first homerun was Judge's second, which came in the bottom of the seventh inning off of Jeff Criswell. With the Yankees trailing 4-3, Juan Soto had just hit a home run to put the team ahead by two runs. Judge then stepped up to the plate and swung at the first pitch he saw, sending it into the right field seats for his second home run of the game.

With this two-homerun performance, Judge became the first player in MLB history to hit 50 or more homers in three of his first nine seasons. He is now on pace for 63 homers by the end of the regular season, just one home run shy of his record-breaking performance in 2022.

The Yankees' faithful are in awe of Judge's torrid pace this season, especially as he continues to chase his own home run record. Many have compared him to the legendary Barry Bonds, who was known for intentionally walking batters to avoid giving up home runs.

Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz recently praised Judge's performance, calling him a "beast" with all the necessary tools. Ortiz believes that Judge's impressive physical condition sets him apart from the rest.

Whether Judge can break his record remains to be seen, but he has an entire month left in the regular season and is showing no signs of slowing down. With his incredible power and consistency at the plate, Judge is poised to make history once again.
