Alec Baldwin will soon be embarking on a new chapter in his life with a reality television series about his family, but the venture comes at a time of uncertainty as he faces an involuntary manslaughter trial.

The upcoming show, tentatively titled "The Baldwins," will air on TLC in 2025 and will feature the couple's everyday lives with their seven children under the age of 10. Baldwin and his wife Hilaria announced the series on Instagram, sharing a chaotic scene with their little ones running around the house.

"And we're coming to TLC. God help you all," Baldwin joked in the video.

While the reality realm will be a new world for Baldwin, he is no stranger to television work, having earned multiple Emmy Awards and nominations for his role in "30 Rock." However, the decision to open their lives to public scrutiny brings both potential benefits and risks.

Eric Schiffer, a brand expert, believes the reality show is a positive move for the couple. "This is a needed financial injection at a time when there's a huge sucking sound in both of their wallets because of the trial," Schiffer explained to Fox News Digital.

"It provides an opportunity to still shape his public image, even though it doesn't come out til 2025," Schiffer added. "Depending upon what happens — if he's found innocent, it keeps him in the public eye, and to the extent he doesn't, and he's found guilty, I think it still serves him and certainly benefits her. So, it's a smart strategy overall."

Psychotherapist Michael McGill, Jr. acknowledges the potential risks associated with reality television, particularly when it comes to parenting. "Parenting is such a sensitive topic because we all parent differently," McGill noted. "You open up to expose your life to become everyone else's business."

"It can impact if you're not safe and secure together. It can break you apart, or it could bring you together."

Despite the challenges, Hilaria Baldwin has also been involved in the entertainment industry, co-founding a chain of yoga studios in New York and releasing a wellness-focused book. However, she became more well-known for an infamous vegetable saga where she struggled to remember the word "cucumber" on "The Today Show."

Baldwin's financial concerns are also a driving force behind the reality show, as he attempts to provide for his family amidst his legal battles. In 2019, Baldwin expressed his desire for more wealth to leave behind for his wife.

"So I can leave it to my wife when I’m dead 'cause I’m not gonna be around much longer, let’s face it," Baldwin said. "And I need to leave my wife a huge pile. A gigantic pile."

The involuntary manslaughter trial is scheduled to begin on July 9, with Baldwin facing up to 18 months in prison if convicted. The outcome of the trial will undoubtedly impact the couple's lives and the future of their reality show.
