Alec Baldwin arrived at the New Mexico courthouse on Monday for a pretrial hearing ahead of his involuntary manslaughter trial for the accidental shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The actor faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted.

Santa Fe, N.M. – Alec Baldwin appeared at the First Judicial District Court in Santa Fe on Monday for a pretrial hearing in his involuntary manslaughter trial. The actor faces two counts of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Baldwin arrived at the courthouse in a black Chevrolet Suburban with his entourage, accompanied by his defense attorney, Alex Spiro. He wore a dark-colored suit and tie and black-rimmed glasses.

The pretrial hearing was scheduled to discuss motions that will determine what evidence can be presented at trial. Baldwin's attorneys aim to exclude discussion of actor Brandon Lee's accidental shooting death on the set of "The Crow" in 1993. Prosecutors, on the other hand, seek to exclude the conclusions of an OSHA report that found assistant director Dave Halls primarily responsible for the killing of Hutchins.

Baldwin's defense attorneys also argue that OSHA state occupational safety officer Lorenzo Montoya, who interviewed Baldwin after the shooting, should not be allowed to testify. Prosecutors unsuccessfully tried to exclude the OSHA report and Montoya from testifying at "Rust" armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed's involuntary manslaughter trial.

Jury selection for Baldwin's trial is scheduled to begin on Tuesday. If convicted, the actor faces up to 18 months in prison.

Baldwin has consistently maintained that he did not pull the trigger on the gun that killed Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. He has stated that he cocked the gun but did not intentionally discharge it.

The prosecution, however, alleges that Baldwin was negligent in handling the firearm and failed to ensure that it was safe before pointing it at Hutchins.

The pretrial hearing is scheduled to last for three days, with Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer presiding over the proceedings. The motions presented by both the prosecution and defense will determine the scope of evidence that can be presented during the trial.

Baldwin's legal team has faced criticism for its handling of the case, with some accusing them of trying to manipulate the narrative and conceal evidence. However, they have maintained that they are confident in Baldwin's innocence and believe that the evidence will exonerate him.

The involuntary manslaughter trial is expected to be highly publicized and will draw intense media scrutiny.
