All Charges Against Pro Golfer Scottie Scheffler Dropped

**Louisville, Ky.** - Professional golfer Scottie Scheffler has been cleared of all charges stemming from a domestic violence incident that occurred in May 2023. Jefferson County Attorney Mike O'Connell announced the dismissal of all charges against Scheffler, including domestic battery and wanton endangerment.

The charges stemmed from an incident that allegedly took place on May 12, 2023, at a residence in Louisville, Kentucky. Police were called to the residence after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, police interviewed Scheffler and his wife, Meredith Scheffler.

According to police records, Meredith Scheffler told officers that Scottie Scheffler had pushed her during an argument. She also alleged that he had thrown objects at her, causing minor injuries.

Scottie Scheffler was arrested and charged with domestic battery and wanton endangerment. He was released from jail on bond the following day.

In the months since the incident, Scheffler has maintained his innocence and has vowed to fight the charges. His attorney, Drew Eckert, has argued that the allegations against Scheffler are false and that he was acting in self-defense.

O'Connell's decision to dismiss the charges follows a thorough review of the evidence in the case. In a statement, O'Connell said that his office "has determined that there is not sufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. Scheffler committed the alleged offenses."

O'Connell also stated that the decision to dismiss the charges was made in consultation with Meredith Scheffler. According to O'Connell, Meredith Scheffler "has expressed her support for Mr. Scheffler and her desire to move on from this matter."

The dismissal of the charges is a significant victory for Scheffler, who has been eager to clear his name and resume his professional golf career. Scheffler is currently ranked as the world's No. 1 golfer and has won multiple PGA Tour events, including the Masters Tournament in 2022.

Scheffler's attorney, Drew Eckert, praised the decision to dismiss the charges and expressed his confidence in Scheffler's character.

"Scottie Scheffler is a man of integrity who has always acted with respect and kindness," Eckert said. "The dismissal of these charges is a testament to his innocence and the truth of the matter."

Scheffler is expected to return to competitive golf in the coming weeks. He is scheduled to defend his Masters title in April 2024.
