"The View" co-host Ana Navarro tore into Senator Marco Rubio on Monday, denouncing his comparison of Donald Trump's trial to Cuban trials after the Fidel Castro regime. Navarro also predicted that Rubio would not become Trump's vice presidential nominee, hinting at her knowledge of undisclosed information about the senator.
"The View" co-host Ana Navarro unleashed a torrent of criticism on Monday against Senator Marco Rubio, after the Florida lawmaker likened Donald Trump's New York criminal trial to the summary executions that took place in Cuba after Fidel Castro took power.
Navarro's explosive remarks came during an appearance on "Behind the Table," the official podcast for "The View." She vehemently condemned Rubio's insinuation that the trials in Cuba, in which at least 5,600 Cubans were shot by firing squads and another 1,200 died in extrajudicial executions, were comparable to Trump's case.
"How dare you, Marco, how dare you?" Navarro said, her voice filled with anger. "Fifty-six hundred Cubans, at least, were shot in front of firing squads. Another 1,200 were shot and died because of extrajudicial hearings. How dare you use their name in vain so that you can suck up to this man?"
Navarro accused Rubio of seeking to curry favor with Trump in his bid to become his vice presidential nominee. She suggested that Rubio's desire for a spot on Trump's ticket was blinding him to the gravity of his remarks.
"I know you want to be his vice president," Navarro said. "But you are not going to be."
Navarro's prediction that Rubio would not join the Trump campaign coincides with speculations about the former president's potential running mates. Among the possible candidates are:
* South Carolina Senator Tim Scott
* Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders
* Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin
* North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum
* South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem
* Ohio Senator J.D. Vance
Navarro's comments also stemmed from her personal connection to the Cuban community. Her family immigrated to Florida from Nicaragua in 1980, and she spent a significant portion of her childhood in Miami. Navarro's intimate understanding of the Cuban experience imbued her remarks with a particular weight.
In addition to her criticism of Rubio's remarks, Navarro also hinted that she possesses potentially damaging information about the senator's past.
"Maybe if he thinks it helps his chances to get into a fight with me and the other women on ‘The View’ he would," Navarro said, "but he knows I know where his skeletons are hidden. I've known him since we were kids."
Despite Navarro's insinuations, Rubio's office did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
