'The View' co-host Ana Navarro has fiercely criticized Latino Americans who support former President Donald Trump, accusing them of hypocrisy and forgetting their own origins. Navarro's comments came in response to Trump's recent rally in the Bronx, where he courted diverse voters by speaking on issues such as immigration, crime, and inflation.

During a segment on CNN, Navarro expressed her dismay at the sight of Latino Americans attending Trump's rally. She accused them of being anti-immigrant and wanting to "shut the door" behind them, despite having come to the United States as immigrants themselves.

"There are some Latino immigrants who forget they came here as immigrants and who want to shut the door behind them, and who think being anti-immigrant somehow is going to make them pass as more American, pass as whatever," Navarro said.

Navarro's comments sparked a heated debate on social media, with many accusing her of elitism and hypocrisy. Some pointed out that many Latino Americans who support Trump do so because they share his concerns about illegal immigration, crime, and the economy.

However, Navarro defended her position, arguing that Latino GOP supporters are playing into Trump's hands by supporting his divisive rhetoric. She cited the 2019 mass shooting by a gunman targeting Hispanics in El Paso, Texas, as an example of the consequences of anti-immigrant rhetoric.

"What folks don't realize is that when the guy drives thousands of miles to go hunt down Latinos in a Walmart in Texas, he doesn't care when you came here. He doesn't care what your accent is," Navarro said. "What he's looking for is, does it look like me, does it sound like me? That's what he's looking for. So, you know, when people are anti-something, they're not asking for your papers, they're just anti-that group."

Navarro's comments also ignited a debate within the Republican Party, with some accusing her of alienating potential Latino voters. However, others defended Navarro, arguing that she was speaking the truth and that the party needed to confront its own anti-immigrant stance.

The issue of Latino support for Trump remains a complex and contentious one. While some polls suggest that Trump is making inroads with Latino voters, others show that a majority of Latino Americans continue to oppose him. It remains to be seen whether Trump's efforts to court Latino voters will be successful in the long run.

In the meantime, Navarro's comments have served as a reminder of the deep divisions that exist within the Latino community on the issue of immigration and the former president himself.
