Angel Reese, a rookie for the Chicago Sky, has made WNBA history by setting a new single-season rebound record. With 405 rebounds and eight games remaining in the regular season, Reese has already surpassed the previous record of 404, held by Sylvia Fowles since 2018.
Former LSU star Angel Reese has reimagined the WNBA record books, setting a new benchmark for rebounds in a single season.
Entering Sunday's contest, Reese had amassed an astonishing 399 rebounds, just six shy of history. With her sixth board of the afternoon, she etched her name in the annals of the WNBA, becoming the all-time leader in rebounds in a single season.

Reese's record-breaking achievement eclipsed the previous mark established by Sylvia Fowles in 2018, who had accumulated 404 rebounds. Notably, Reese accomplished this feat in just 23 games, leaving her with eight more opportunities to extend her lead.
Beyond her record-setting rebounds, Reese has been an all-around force for the Chicago Sky, averaging 12.9 rebounds per game, the highest in the league. She is also a dominant presence on the offensive glass, leading the WNBA with 5.1 offensive rebounds per game.

Drafted as the seventh overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky, Reese has quickly proven her worth. Along with Caitlin Clark, she is one of only two rookies to be named to the WNBA All-Star Game this season.
