Angelina Jolie opens up about her limited circle of close friends, revealing that she has lost friendships over the years due to betrayal. She values loyalty and leans on a few trusted individuals, finding comfort in their presence.
Angelina Jolie, the renowned actress and humanitarian, maintains a guarded inner circle, consisting of a select group of trusted individuals who share her values and offer genuine support. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jolie candidly shared her views on close friendships, revealing that she has experienced betrayals that have shaped her cautious approach to forming deep bonds.
Angelina Jolie's Inner Circle: "I Don’t Really Have Those Kinds of Relationships
"I don’t really have those kinds of relationships," Jolie admitted when asked about who she would call at 3 in the morning. "Maybe it’s losing your parent young. Maybe it’s working. Maybe it’s being somebody who’s been betrayed a lot."
Jolie's circle of confidants is small but tight-knit, and those within it have earned her trust through years of shared experiences and unwavering support. Loung Ung, the Cambodian American human rights activist who inspired Jolie's film "First They Killed My Father," is among her closest friends.

Despite the limited number of close relationships in her life, Jolie finds solace in the deep connections she has forged with her loved ones. "I have a couple of people that I trust," she said. "And those within that inner circle know just how the actress chooses to relax."
Jolie finds relaxation in the simple pleasures of life, such as watching bad TV and ordering Thai food in the company of those she loves. "If somebody wants to watch bad TV and order Thai food, I’m the first one to put the fuzzy socks on and sit next to them," she exclaimed. "I like to be with people I love. I’m not somebody begging to be alone."

Jolie's desire for privacy and a close-knit circle also extends to her home life. She plans to leave Los Angeles once her youngest children turn 18, seeking a more secluded and peaceful environment where her family can thrive.
"But as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave," she said, referring to her youngest children, twins Vivienne and Knox, 16, whom she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt.
Jolie's decision to leave Los Angeles is driven by her desire to prioritize the well-being of her family and to explore the world, immersing herself in the diverse cultures and experiences that have always fascinated her.
"I'll spend a lot of time in Cambodia," she said, which is where Maddox was adopted in 2002. "I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world."
Angelina Jolie's inner circle may be small, but it is a testament to the value she places on loyalty, trust, and genuine companionship. It is within this intimate sanctuary that she finds solace, support, and the unwavering bonds that enrich her life.
