In a post on Wednesday, Kim, who now competes on the LIV Golf series, referenced crackheads and their unwavering determination to get high, comparing it to his own commitment to improvement.

Kim's message was met with a mixture of shock and criticism, with many questioning the appropriateness of his analogy. The use of the term "crackhead" is considered highly derogatory and offensive, and Kim's message was seen by some as insensitive and demeaning.
Despite his controversial post, Kim is known for his outspoken nature and has been open about his past struggles with addiction. In an interview with LIV Golf Plus in April, Kim revealed that he has dealt with addiction, tendinitis, and injuries throughout his career.

"Golf is important to me and not important to me at the same time," Kim said. "I've had some very dark moments. I've had some very low moments. I've felt very alone, even when there's a million people around. I needed to get my mind straight and figure out what my purpose was on this planet."
Kim's return to professional golf after a long absence has been highly publicized, but his performance on the LIV Golf tour has been disappointing. He is currently tied for last in the LIV Golf standings and has finished near the bottom of the leaderboard in every event he has played.
