The Arizona Cardinals have significantly bolstered their wide receiver corps by agreeing to terms on a one-year deal with veteran Zay Jones. The 29-year-old Jones has spent the last two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and has also played for the Las Vegas Raiders and Buffalo Bills.

Jones enjoyed his most productive NFL campaign in 2022, setting career highs in receptions (82), receiving yards (823), and touchdowns (5). The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder is known for his strong hands, reliable route running, and ability to make contested catches.

The Cardinals' decision to sign Jones is a clear indication of their desire to upgrade their receiving group and provide more weapons for franchise quarterback Kyler Murray. Jones joins a promising young corps that includes Ohio State standout Marvin Harrison Jr., who was selected with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Harrison Jr. is a highly touted prospect with exceptional route-running skills and the ability to create separation. He is expected to make an immediate impact in the NFL and form a dynamic duo with Murray.

In addition to Harrison Jr., the Cardinals also have tight end Trey McBride, a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and second-year receiver Michael Wilson, who showed flashes of potential as a rookie.

With the addition of Jones, the Cardinals now have a diverse group of receivers with different skill sets. Jones provides a reliable target for Murray on short and intermediate routes, while Harrison Jr. can stretch the field and create big plays downfield.

The signing of Jones is a major boost to the Cardinals' offense, which struggled at times last season. The Cardinals ranked 28th in passing yards and 25th in points per game in 2022.

With Murray at the helm and a revamped receiving corps at his disposal, the Cardinals are hoping to make a significant improvement on offense in 2023. The addition of Jones gives them a proven playmaker who can contribute immediately and help Murray reach his full potential.
