Arsenal continued their remarkable unbeaten run in the Premier League with a convincing 3-0 victory over Southampton at Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The Gunners, who had not lost a game since August, dominated the match from start to finish and were worthy winners.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 12th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box. The England international received the ball from Mesut Özil and unleashed a powerful shot that flew into the top corner.

Arsenal doubled their lead in the 27th minute through Olivier Giroud. The French striker headed home a cross from Aaron Ramsey, who had done well to beat his marker down the left flank.
Alexis Sanchez put the game beyond doubt in the 51st minute with a clinical finish. The Chilean forward latched onto a pass from Özil and slotted the ball past Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
Southampton never really threatened to get back into the game, and Arsenal could have added to their lead in the second half. However, they were denied by some good saves from Forster and some poor finishing of their own.
The victory moved Arsenal back into fourth place in the Premier League, level on points with Chelsea and Liverpool. The Gunners are now just two points behind Tottenham Hotspur in third place and will be confident of challenging for a top-four finish.
Southampton, meanwhile, remain in 14th place and will need to start picking up points soon if they want to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
