Gunshots fired near former President Trump's golf course in Florida have prompted an investigation by the FBI as a second attempted assassination. The Secret Service swiftly intervened, rushing Trump to safety.

Former President Donald Trump was unharmed after gunshots were fired near him as he played a round of golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Secret Service immediately whisked Trump to safety and later revealed that they had apprehended a suspect armed with an AK-47 rifle.

"President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time," said Steven Cheung from the Trump Campaign communications team.

Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., took to social media to express his concerns, alluding to a previous attempted assassination of his father at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

"Again folks!" Trump Jr. exclaimed. "SHOTS FIRED at Trump Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida," he wrote. "An AK-47 was discovered in the bushes, per local law enforcement."

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham spoke with President Trump and praised his resilience. "He is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known," Graham said. "He’s in good spirits and he is more resolved than ever to save our country."

The White House also released a statement, expressing relief at Trump's safety and confirming that the President and Vice President had been briefed on the incident.

Many lawmakers condemned the attempted assassination and emphasized the need to address political violence.

"This irresponsible rhetoric is causing people to get hurt," said Republican Representative Anna Paulina, blaming the "radical left" for its inflammatory language.

Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer expressed his gratitude to the Secret Service for their rapid response. "There is no place in this country for political violence of any kind," Schumer stated.

The FBI is currently investigating the incident as a second attempted assassination of Trump. The Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump has requested a briefing with the Secret Service to review the security response.

"We are thankful that the former President was not harmed, but remain deeply concerned about political violence and condemn it in all of its forms," said Task Force members Mike Kelly and Jason Crow.

Republican Representative Elise Stefanik expressed her gratitude for Trump's safety and raised concerns about the proximity of the assailant. She called for unity and the protection of the former President and his family.

"As Americans, we must unite behind him in November to protect our republic and bring peace back to the world," Stefanik stated.
