Cindy Romero, a former resident of the Aurora apartment complex where an armed migrant gang seized control, has refuted Colorado Governor Jared Polis' claims that the incident is "largely a feature of Danielle Jurinsky's imagination." Romero provided video evidence and personal accounts to support her assertion that the takeover was real and a result of the state's failed immigration policies.
Former Aurora apartment resident Cindy Romero has vehemently criticized Colorado Governor Jared Polis' dismissal of the armed migrant gang takeover of her building. Romero, who was forced to evacuate on Wednesday, provided firsthand accounts and video evidence to refute Polis' spokeswoman's assertion that the incident was fabricated.

"You can't fake video," said Romero in response to Governor Polis' statement. "Polis wouldn't last five minutes on that property."
Romero's testimony contradicts the claims made by Polis' spokeswoman, Shelby Wieman, who downplayed the severity of the incident. Wieman attributed the takeover to "Danielle Jurinsky's imagination," dismissing it as an unfounded exaggeration.

However, Romero's compelling account and corroborating video evidence present a stark contrast to Polis' dismissive stance. Romero recounted the terrifying moment when suspected gang members broke into the room across from hers, armed with firearms. She emphasized the lack of police response and the feeling of abandonment she and the other residents experienced.
"They don't want to admit that they're part of the problem," said Romero, referring to the Polis administration. "It's the administration who we count on to make the rules for us, to make the guidelines that we go by. I call 911. No help comes for me. No help."

Romero's harrowing experience aligns with the growing concerns about the influx of illegal migrants in Colorado and the perceived lack of government action to address the issue. In the past two years, over 40,000 illegal migrants have arrived in Colorado, with many residing in Denver, a sanctuary city.
Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman, while acknowledging the veracity of the situation, emphasized the need to provide context. He stated that while the takeover is indeed real, it should be understood within a broader framework.
Meanwhile, surveillance footage from the Romeros' apartment building has emerged, further supporting their claims. The video shows armed men confronting an individual in the parking lot, wielding weapons in a threatening manner.
Despite the compelling evidence, Governor Polis has yet to provide a response to Fox News Digital's request for comment. His silence on the matter has raised further questions about the administration's priorities and commitment to public safety.
As Romero and other residents grapple with the aftermath of the takeover, they demand accountability from their elected officials. They call for swift action to address the root causes of the problem and to ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future.
