Barry Morphew, the husband of Suzanne Morphew, who went missing in 2020, continues to assert his innocence in her death, which authorities have now deemed a homicide. Morphew expressed his disbelief that his wife is gone and questioned the investigation's integrity.

In a phone interview with local media, Morphew accused authorities of misplacing the blame on him. He stated that the investigators have neglected other leads and have not provided his family with crucial DNA evidence that could potentially identify the perpetrator.

"People don't know the truth," Morphew said. "They are trying to blame me for this when they don't know what happened."

Suzanne Morphew disappeared on Mother's Day 2020, after leaving her home for a bike ride. Her remains were discovered in 2023 in Saguache County, approximately 45 miles from her residence. Authorities determined her death was a homicide by undetermined means, with drug intoxication being a contributing factor.

Morphew was initially charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence in 2021 but the charges were dismissed without prejudice in 2022. The dismissal allowed prosecutors to potentially refile charges in the future.

Unsealed text messages revealed the couple had marital issues and were allegedly having affairs prior to Suzanne's disappearance. Morphew has claimed that his wife threatened to leave him and that he was unaware of her activities at the time she vanished.

Despite the dismissed charges, Morphew remains under suspicion. However, he has filed a $15 million lawsuit against prosecutors and investigators, alleging that his constitutional rights were violated during the investigation.

Investigators have not found any traces of blood near the Morphew home or their vehicles. However, DNA profiles from sexual assault cases in various cities were linked to a partial DNA profile found on Suzanne's glovebox. Additionally, unknown male DNA was detected on her bike and its components.

Morphew's attorney, Iris Eytan, has criticized the authorities for withholding information regarding DNA testing on Suzanne's clothing and the bullet found near her remains. Eytan argues that this evidence could be crucial in identifying the perpetrator and providing justice for the family.

The case has been further complicated by allegations of prosecutorial misconduct, with Morphew's attorney accusing the district attorney of concealing evidence and suppressing information.

Authorities continue to investigate Suzanne's homicide and are urging anyone with information to contact them. Meanwhile, Barry Morphew maintains his innocence and insists that the full truth about his wife's death is yet to be revealed. The family appeals for privacy and transparency in the ongoing investigation.
