Former President Mike Huckabee criticizes the Biden-Harris administration's delayed response to Hurricane Helene, arguing that they have failed to prioritize the needs of affected communities.
"It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring," used to be a nursery rhyme. Today it is the frightening reality of our lack of leadership in the White House, as President Biden shuffles his way to the end of his only term as president.
On Wednesday, Oct. 2, Biden finally visited the site of devastation in North Carolina wrought by Hurricane Helene. This comes amid real concerns that the federal response has been lackluster and insufficient.

Then there is the ongoing war in the Middle East, which on Tuesday, October 1, saw Iran launch the largest ballistic missile attack in human history against Israel. This, despite Biden's warnings to the Iranian regime.
As if those two disasters weren’t enough, this same week has also seen the International Longshoremen's Association go on strike from Maine to Texas, shutting down the supply line for everything from batteries to bananas.

These crises highlight the absence of effective presidential leadership. In August, a restaurateur in San Francisco expressed their uncertainty, saying, "I don’t know who’s running the country." In Virginia, a Democrat simply stated, "It’s sad, but he’s just gone."
To be blunt, this situation is incredibly dangerous. We heard almost nothing from our president as Iran attempted to start World War III. Instead, we saw National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the White House podium, the very man whose incompetence helped light the match of this conflagration.

Sullivan, who said days before the Hamas attack on Israel that the Middle East was quieter than it had been in two decades, still has his job. Why? Because he doesn’t have a boss. Nobody in the administration does.
The Biden-Harris administration has been criticized for its response to the Hurricane Helene disaster, with some arguing that their delayed visit to the affected areas has hindered the recovery process. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee stated that visiting these areas helps bring additional help and support.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris has been criticized for her lack of involvement in the administration. Some have suggested that she is running away from her role due to Biden's deteriorating cognitive abilities.
In a normal world, Joe Biden would have stepped down by now and been replaced by Vice President Kamala Harris. However, with only four months remaining until the next presidential election, it is unlikely that such a transition will occur.
For the time being, our ship of state has no captain. And rudderless, it is at significant risk of capsizing.
