Former President Trump has accepted President Biden's invitation to debate him in June and September, setting the stage for a potential rematch of their 2020 campaign clashes.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, former President Trump stated that he "would accept the timeline proposed by Biden," confirming his willingness to participate in the June and September debates. This announcement follows Biden's challenge to Trump on Wednesday, in which he invited him to "make my day, pal" and "pick the dates."

Trump, however, did not miss an opportunity to criticize Biden, calling him "Crooked Joe Biden" and the "worst debater I have ever faced." He also accused the Democratic president of being "the worst president in the history of the United States."

Despite his criticisms, Trump emphasized his readiness for the debates, saying, "I'm ready to go." He added that he was "looking forward to being in beautiful Atlanta" for the first debate, which is scheduled to take place on June 27 on CNN.

The Biden campaign had initially accepted CBS News' invitation for a vice presidential debate in the summer, setting the stage for a showdown between Vice President Kamala Harris and the Republican VP nominee. However, on Wednesday, the Biden campaign wrote a letter to the Commission on Presidential Debates, abandoning the decades-old tradition of three fall events organized by the commission.

The Biden-Harris campaign requested that the debates occur in a TV studio, with microphones that automatically cut off when a speaker's time limit elapses. They also asked that the debates involve just the two candidates and the moderator, without an in-person audience or the participation of third-party candidates.

In response, the Trump campaign said they were "ready to go" and that the proposed dates were "fine" with them. Trump also stated that he would provide his own transportation to the debates.

The potential debates between Biden and Trump have sparked excitement among political observers, who see it as a rematch of their 2020 campaign debates. In those debates, Biden often criticized Trump's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and his policies on immigration and climate change. Trump, on the other hand, attacked Biden's age and mental acuity, as well as his economic and foreign policy plans.

With the June and September debates now confirmed, the stage is set for another round of heated exchanges between the two political rivals. Observers will be eagerly watching to see if Trump can improve upon his performance in the 2020 debates and whether Biden can maintain his composure under fire.
