President Biden dismissed concerns about his cognitive function after a Wall Street Journal article suggested he was experiencing "mental slippage." His Cabinet members swiftly came to his defense, praising his intelligence and decision-making abilities.
President Biden has flatly denied allegations of cognitive decline, asserting that the "matter is now closed" following the release of a special counsel's report on his handling of classified documents. The President's Cabinet members have united in his defense, dismissing a Wall Street Journal article that portrayed him as mentally unfit for office.
In response to the report, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm unequivocally declared the article "BS." She described Biden as "utterly on his game" and possessing "the keenest insights" on complex issues.
Fox News Digital reached out to all Cabinet members, who were quick to denounce the article's characterization. Secretary of State Antony Blinken lauded Biden's depth of knowledge, fluency in policy, and exceptional abilities in strategy discussions and diplomatic meetings.
Attorney General Merrick Garland expressed complete confidence in the President's mental acuity, highlighting his exceptional skills in navigating national security issues. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen remarked on Biden's well-informed and effective performance in global negotiations, particularly with Chinese President Xi.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas strongly disputed the article's narrative, emphasizing Biden's detailed-oriented questions and ability to draw upon past conversations in his decision-making. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin concurred, expressing total confidence in Biden's national security decisions and commitment to the safety of U.S. troops.
Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, a former Rhode Island governor, asserted that Biden was sharp, focused, and insightful in their discussions on various topics, including economic competition with China. Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough praised Biden's accountability and focus on delivering for veterans, while Education Secretary Miguel Cardona highlighted his comprehensive understanding of policies and their impact on the American people.
Former President Donald Trump and his supporters have repeatedly questioned Biden's cognitive abilities, referring to him as "Sleepy Joe" since 2019. According to a recent Pew Research poll, only 21% of respondents expressed extreme or very high confidence in Biden's mental fitness for presidency, while 16% were somewhat confident and 62% had little or no confidence.
Despite these concerns, Biden's Cabinet members have staunchly defended his cognitive abilities. They maintain that the President remains sharp, engaged, and fully capable of leading the nation.
