Morale is reportedly at an all-time low within President Biden's re-election campaign, with staff and Democratic officials questioning his chances of victory and growing calls for him to drop out of the race.

Internal turmoil within President Biden's re-election campaign is reaching unprecedented levels, with morale plummeting and calls for his withdrawal intensifying, according to a recent CNN report.

The report, based on interviews with dozens of Democratic officials, White House and Biden campaign aides, as well as close allies, paints a dire picture of the campaign's current state. Many of those interviewed described a "doom loop" of negativity, with growing doubts about Biden's ability to defeat former President Donald Trump.

The intra-party division over Biden's candidacy has taken its toll on campaign staff, with some expressing a sense of hopelessness. One aide told CNN, "There's a growing sense that it's game over."

Top Democratic leaders, including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and former President Barack Obama, are reportedly pushing for a new party nominee or at least working behind the scenes to ease Biden out of the race.

Despite Biden's insistence that he is determined to defeat Trump, some of his own staff have anonymously expressed little hope. "Even among aides in the White House and Wilmington who for long after the debate were ready to stick with him, the weight has started to feel too much," the outlet reported.

Some staffers have indicated they are planning to quit, while others have resorted to "quiet quitting," going through the motions until Biden is replaced. "I don't think you can find a person who is off the record saying he should stay in," one source told CNN.

Faith in the Biden inner circle has been "obliterated," with top aides resorting to "emailing and texting to check in about how far down into despair they are day by day" rather than focusing on campaign operations.

Despite the negative sentiment, some Biden advisors maintain that the campaign is running smoothly. Campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz told CNN, "Here in HQ, we're working really hard because on winning campaigns, you work really hard."

However, Democratic lawmakers have acknowledged the writing on the wall. Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., told Axios, "A change at the top of the ticket has taken on an aura of inevitability."

Even Biden loyalists in Congress have admitted that momentum is against him. Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., told Axios, "I don't believe President Biden should step aside, but it appears that opinion is being overruled."

Another pro-Biden lawmaker, Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove, D-Calif., said, "I am concerned that the tide is turning against Biden."

The Biden campaign spokesperson, when asked about CNN's report, pointed to a quote from campaign chair Jen O'Malley Dillon. "The president's in this race," she said on MSNBC. "You've heard him say that time and time again."

However, the growing discontent within the campaign and the dwindling support among Democratic leaders make it increasingly clear that Biden's re-election bid is facing an uphill battle.
