Recent polls indicate a sharp decline in President Biden's support among Black voters, with former President Donald Trump making significant gains. This shift has raised concerns among Democrats and liberal pundits, who have dismissed the results as inaccurate.

CNN data reporter Harry Enten expressed astonishment after recent polling revealed a notable surge in Black voter support for former President Donald Trump. The polls indicate that Trump has significantly cut into President Biden's lead among this key demographic, potentially threatening Biden's chances of re-election.

Liberal pundits and Democrats have met the poll results with skepticism. Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., dismissed the findings, attributing them to inaccurate polling and media bias. "The View" co-host Sunny Hostin similarly downplayed the trend, arguing that Black voters will overwhelmingly support Biden.

However, multiple polls consistently show a decline in Biden's approval among Black voters. In key swing states, Biden's support has dropped by 15-20 percentage points since 2020. In addition, Trump has gained significant ground, increasing his Black support by 3-4 percentage points in some states.

Enten emphasized that Trump's strength among Black voters is "historic," and that Biden's decline is not simply due to a loss of support, but also because Trump is actively gaining ground.

Despite the polling data, CNN's Bakari Sellars argued that the results are "poor polling" and that Trump will not receive 20% of the Black vote. Similarly, Mitch Landrieu, co-chair of Biden's campaign, dismissed the polling, claiming that it is often wrong.

However, some pundits have acknowledged the significance of the polling and expressed concern about the implications for Biden. "The View" co-host Sara Haines noted that Biden's Black support has dropped from 92% in 2020 to 77% currently, a significant decline.

Interviews with Black voters also reveal dissatisfaction with the Biden-Trump match-up. Many expressed a desire for alternative candidates, suggesting that they might not turn out for either Biden or Trump.

The Biden campaign and Trump campaign have not yet commented on the poll results.
