Senator Lindsey Graham demands answers from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas following the attempted breach of a Marine base by illegal immigrants from Jordan. Graham warns that the Biden administration's policies are putting Americans at risk of another terrorist attack.

Biden's Border Policies: A Threat to National Security

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has sharply criticized the Biden administration's border policies, stating that they are failing and putting Americans at risk. Graham made these remarks on "Hannity" Tuesday, in response to the recent incident where two Jordanian nationals attempted to breach Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia.

"At what point does it become clear that your policies are not working?" Graham asked Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. "We're living on borrowed time. If this is not a wake-up call, what would be?"

Graham's concerns stem from the fact that one of the Jordanian nationals had crossed into the U.S. illegally in April and was released from custody. Sources have revealed that the individual crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in the San Diego sector and was released on a notice to appear in court due to lack of derogatory information.

"Please explain how they came to the United States. Were they here illegally? Are either of them on any terrorist watchlist?" Graham questioned in a letter to Mayorkas.

Graham's demand for answers underscores the growing concern among lawmakers about the Biden administration's handling of the border crisis. The number of illegal crossings has surged since President Biden took office, and there have been several high-profile incidents involving illegal immigrants committing crimes in the U.S.

In addition to the Quantico incident, a Jordanian national was arrested in June for attempting to bomb a synagogue in New York City. The individual had also crossed the border illegally and was released from custody.

"The Biden administration needs to up their game when it comes to border security," Graham said. "We can't afford to have a repeat of what happened on 9/11."

The incident at Quantico highlights the potential consequences of the Biden administration's failure to secure the border. Had the Jordanian nationals been successful in breaching the base, they could have caused significant damage or even led to a terrorist attack.

"We're going to get attacked again," Graham warned. "It's only a matter of time."

Graham's statements echo those of other Republican lawmakers who have expressed alarm over the Biden administration's border policies. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has called for Mayorkas to resign, while Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has accused the administration of "dereliction of duty."

The Biden administration has defended its border policies, stating that they are humane and effective. However, the rising number of illegal crossings and the recent incidents involving illegal immigrants have cast doubt on the administration's claims.

As the border crisis continues to unfold, it remains to be seen whether the Biden administration will take steps to address the concerns raised by Graham and other lawmakers.
