Despite facing pressure from some Democrats to drop out of the presidential race, President Biden remains confident in his ability to defeat former President Trump. During an interview with "The View" co-hosts, Biden discussed his assessment of the political climate and expressed his belief that he could have emerged victorious if he had stayed in the race.

President Biden has dismissed claims that he faced overwhelming reluctance from Democrats regarding his re-election bid, asserting that he remained confident in his ability to defeat former President Trump. In a recent interview with "The View" co-hosts, Biden addressed the pressure he encountered from fellow Democrats, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, to withdraw from the race following his debate performance with Trump.

Despite the concerns raised by some Democrats, Biden maintained that he did not sense a significant level of resistance to his re-election efforts. "I never fully believed the assertions that somehow there was this overwhelming reluctance of my running again," Biden stated. "I didn’t sense that."

The president pointed to polling data as evidence to support his confidence in his chances against Trump. "Although the polling, they say ‘Biden’s polling was different,’ the fact of the matter is my polling was about, you know, we were always within range of beating this guy," he said.

Biden also emphasized that his decision to drop out of the race was not influenced by Democratic pressure, but rather a result of his own reflections on his age. "I was confident I would beat Trump — he's a loser," Biden asserted.

During the interview, co-host Whoopi Goldberg expressed her disapproval of the public airing of concerns regarding Biden's age, stating that it could have been handled more discreetly. "I didn't like the way it was done publicly," Goldberg said. "I thought they could have done this in a different way, because we didn’t need to hear all the inner fighting. I didn’t like it."

Despite the internal divisions that emerged within the Democratic Party during the election cycle, Biden expressed gratitude for the support he received from "The View" co-hosts, who had generally been vocal in their endorsement of his presidency. "You were my ride or die," Biden told the co-hosts.

In response to Biden's departure from the race, the "View" co-hosts had previously suggested that he might need to be replaced on the ticket. "It was really hard to watch and it kind of pains me to say this today, but I think President Biden needs to step down and be replaced," co-host Sara Haines stated at the time.

As the election season unfolded, Vice President Kamala Harris stepped forward to accept Biden's endorsement and take his place on the presidential ticket. Biden remains a prominent figure within the Democratic Party and continues to voice his support for progressive causes and policies.
