MSNBC's "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough has expressed concerns about President Biden's ability to serve a second term following his debate performance against former President Donald Trump. Scarborough's comments come amid growing concerns within the Democratic party about Biden's age and cognitive abilities.

In the aftermath of President Biden's widely panned debate performance against former President Donald Trump, MSNBC's "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough has expressed concerns about Biden's ability to serve a second term.

"If [Biden] were CEO and he turned in a performance like that, would any corporation in America, any Fortune 500 corporation in America keep him on as CEO?" Scarborough asked on Monday's show.

Scarborough's comments come amid growing concerns within the Democratic party about Biden's age and cognitive abilities. Biden, who is 79 years old, would be the oldest president in history if he were to win a second term.

During the debate, Biden appeared confused and disoriented at times. He also made several gaffes, including misstating the number of American troops in Afghanistan.

Scarborough, who has been a vocal critic of Trump in the past, said that Biden's debate performance was "embarrassing" and that it raised serious questions about his fitness for office.

"I love Joe Biden," Scarborough said. "I think he's a good man. But I have to say, I don't think he's up to the task of being president."

Scarborough's comments were echoed by other MSNBC hosts, including Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist.

"It's time for a serious conversation about Biden's health," Brzezinski said. "He's not up to the job."

Geist said that Biden's debate performance was "a disaster" and that it "should be a wake-up call for Democrats."

The Democratic party is fractured right now. As it stands today, Donald Trump is leading in every swing state. One poll out this weekend shows him up in New Jersey.

Trump is tied in states like Minnesota, Virginia, New Hampshire and Maine... all states that haven't gone red in decades.

While all of this is happening, Biden is still away for another extended work-free weekend.

His top TV advisor, Scarborough, apparently decided to do the same.

Scarborough's comments are a significant blow to Biden, who has been a longtime friend of the MSNBC host.

It remains to be seen whether Scarborough's comments will have a wider impact on the Democratic party. However, they are sure to fuel speculation about Biden's health and fitness for office.
