The firebrand Republican Rep. Cory Mills has ignited an impeachment drive against President Biden, accusing him of pressuring Israel into a "quid pro quo" by withholding weapons as the Jewish state prepares for a ground invasion of Rafah. Mills' move draws parallels to the Democrats' impeachment of former President Trump over his handling of Ukraine aid.

In a bold and controversial move, Republican Rep. Cory Mills has initiated impeachment proceedings against President Biden over his threat to halt U.S. offensive aid to Israel if it launches a ground invasion of the southern Gaza city of Rafah.

Mills, a first-term lawmaker from Florida, leveled accusations of "quid pro quo" against Biden, alleging that the president was using U.S. dollars to leverage Israel's actions in Gaza. He drew striking parallels to the Democrats' first impeachment of former President Trump over his handling of Ukraine aid.

"The House has no choice but to impeach President 'Quid pro Joe' Biden," Mills declared. "As Vice President, Biden was caught threatening to withhold funding and aid to Ukraine unless they fired the attorney general investigating Burisma, a company financially benefiting his son Hunter, not to mention the 10% share for 'the big guy' himself."

Mills continued, "Now, Joe Biden is pressuring Israel, our biggest ally in the Middle East, by pausing their funding that has already been approved in the House, if they don't stop all operations with Hamas. It's a very clear message, 'this for that.'"

Biden's high-stakes ultimatum, made in a CNN interview that aired Wednesday night, has sent shockwaves through the U.S. Congress and the international community. The city of Rafah is currently home to more than a million Palestinians who have fled other parts of the Gaza Strip, targeted by Israel's ongoing mission to neutralize Hamas.

While affirming continued U.S. support for Israel's defensive systems, Biden emphasized that he would not supply weapons historically used to engage with Rafah and other similar urban areas.

The announcement has drawn swift condemnation from Republicans and some moderate Democrats, with several lawmakers echoing Mills' call for impeachment.

Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Ga., demanded an immediate House impeachment inquiry, arguing that Biden's actions were politically motivated.

"Given Democrats' Trump-Ukraine precedent, President Biden's decision to withhold lethal aid to our ally, Israel, for political gain is undoubtedly an impeachable offense," Clyde stated. "Clearly, the nefarious motive behind our commander in chief's move to condition U.S. aid to Israel is to appease radical leftists and Hamas sympathizers ahead of the 2024 election."

Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., told Fox News Digital, "The Democrats made their bed, and now they're [lying] in it. This is just the latest on a long list of reasons to impeach Biden, including the deadline withdrawal in Afghanistan and allowing more than 9 million illegal immigrants to invade our southern border."

Despite the fervor, it remains highly improbable that the impeachment push will gain sufficient traction to reach the level of a Senate trial. The House's current ongoing impeachment inquiry into Biden, centered on allegations of improper behavior and bribery, has yet to produce definitive evidence.

Nonetheless, the move reflects the heightened tensions that have engulfed Washington D.C. amidst Israel's ongoing battle against Hamas. The terrorist group's barrage of rocket attacks on Israel on October 7 ignited the latest round of hostilities, prompting a swift and forceful Israeli response.

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., while refraining from explicitly endorsing impeachment, expressed deep concern over Biden's actions.

"The president is essentially threatening an arms embargo on our closest ally in the Middle East that is fighting a terror army holding American citizens hostage," Issa said. "Withholding critical munitions that Congress appropriated and Biden himself signed into law is wrong."

The first member of Congress to publicly advocate for impeachment was Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., who posted on X early on Thursday morning.

"The House has no choice but to impeach Biden based on the Trump-Ukraine precedent of withholding foreign aid to help with reelection," Cotton wrote. "Only with Biden, it's true."

The White House has not yet responded to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
