President Biden's administration is embroiled in controversy over allegations of a secret plan to remove White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, while recent polls indicate weak support for his potential re-election campaign.

President Biden's re-election bid has encountered a fresh set of challenges, including allegations of an internal plot to oust White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and dismal polling numbers.

The White House has vehemently denied reports that a clandestine scheme was orchestrated to replace Jean-Pierre. Deputy press secretary Andrew Bates asserted that these claims were "wildly false" and that Jean-Pierre had not been approached with such a proposition. He emphasized that she spends hours preparing daily and receives unwavering support from both chief of staff Jeff Zients and senior adviser Anita Dunn.

Sources familiar with the alleged plan, however, have provided a different account. They claim that Jean-Pierre's superiors were dissatisfied with her frequent reliance on prepared answers and perceived inadequacy in advocating for the president as he prepares for his re-election campaign.

According to these sources, Zients and Dunn conspired to persuade Jean-Pierre to voluntarily depart by enlisting external Democrats to convey the message. They reportedly suggested that her departure would align with the typical tenure of previous press secretaries and benefit her career trajectory.

Despite these efforts, Jean-Pierre has reportedly remained steadfast in her determination to stay until the election. One source claimed that she has consistently expressed her intention to remain in her role.

A recent CNN poll has further dampened Biden's electoral prospects. The survey revealed that former President Trump maintains an advantage in a head-to-head matchup, garnering 49% of the support compared to Biden's 43%. Trump's lead widens to 42% to 33% when alternative candidates are included.

Moreover, 61% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with Biden's presidency, while only 55% viewed Trump's presidency favorably. These findings highlight the hurdles Biden faces as he seeks to secure a second term.

The White House's response to the Jean-Pierre allegations and the unfavorable polling data underscores the challenges confronting the Biden administration as the 2024 presidential election approaches.
