Business owners claim tech giants are handicapping them with payment freezes, ad bans, and censorship. However, two tech companies deny political bias and state that limitations are solely for fraud prevention and risk management.
Political polarization has fueled the rise of a "parallel economy" catered to consumers disillusioned with progressive businesses. However, many of these "anti-woke" businesses encounter obstacles from tech giants that allegedly do not hinder their left-leaning counterparts.
According to business owners, these limitations include payment processors freezing funds, social media platforms revoking or censoring advertisements, and broadcasters requiring political disclaimers on commercials. However, the targeted tech companies deny any political bias.

James Staake, owner of Your American Flag Store, faced such hurdles. He alleges that conservative-oriented products were removed from his online store and social media advertising privileges were cut off. Shortly after, PayPal froze over $100,000 in Staake's account, claiming it needed time to assess risk.
Staake's experience has led to increased interest in "cancel-proof" payment processors like Second Amendment Processing and PublicSquare.

Jennifer Sey, CEO of XX-XY Athletics, alleges that Meta's advertising tool intentionally excludes conservative influencers, preventing her company from reaching its desired audience. However, Meta claims that political and religious figures are not allowed in the tool to prevent abuse.
TikTok banned XX-XY's advertisement featuring female athletes advocating for girls' sports protection, citing "offensive content." Comcast also refused to air the ad without a political disclaimer.

Sey views these incidents as proof of a double standard by tech giants, arguing that they stifle free speech and limit consumer access to diverse perspectives. She urges consumers to support businesses that align with their values and hold tech companies accountable for potential bias.
