Bill Maher Blasts Kamala Harris' Middle East Policy: 'Full of S---'
Bill Maher, the host of HBO's "Real Time," has launched a scathing attack on Vice President Kamala Harris' Middle East policy, asserting that it is "full of s---" and fails to address the underlying issues fueling the conflict.
During Friday's panel discussion, Maher addressed Israel's covert operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon, which reportedly resulted in dozens of terrorist operatives killed and hundreds more injured. He then criticized Harris' comments regarding the aftermath of the war, in which she called for no reoccupation of Gaza, no change in its territorial lines, and the establishment of security for all concerned.

Maher dismissed these remarks as empty platitudes, arguing that they ignored the fundamental issue: one side's unwavering pursuit of terrorism as a means to achieve their goals. He pointed out that Israel has repeatedly retaliated against terrorism, while being unjustly accused of genocide.
"The problem is that one side wants a two-state solution, or at least always did," Maher said. "One side never did and still doesn't. One side uses terrorism to get their goals. One side retaliates against terrorism. One side is accused of genocide, but doesn't do it. The other side actually would love to do it."

Maher believes that Harris' rhetoric is simply lip service that fails to address the true nature of the conflict. He accused her of being "full of s---" for suggesting that everyone wants to end the war and prevent children from dying, without acknowledging the complexities and deep-rooted issues that perpetuate the violence.
Despite his harsh criticism of Harris' Middle East policy, Maher has endorsed her ahead of the November election and predicts her victory over former President Trump. He believes that the tide has turned against Trump and that Harris will emerge triumphant.

Maher drew a parallel between Harris' current position and that of Joe McCarthy in the early 1950s. He suggested that McCarthy's hold on the American public eventually faded, and he believes that Trump's influence is following a similar trajectory.
"Tonight I'm saying- I think it's over," Maher said, referencing Trump's political future.
Maher's comments reflect a growing frustration among some observers who believe that the Biden administration's approach to the Middle East is overly idealistic and fails to adequately confront the challenges posed by extremist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas.
