HBO's "Real Time" host Bill Maher has expressed frustration over the testimony of adult film actress Stormy Daniels in the ongoing trial against former President Donald Trump, calling her a "bad witness" and questioning the validity of her claims.

Bill Maher, host of HBO's "Real Time," has voiced his strong disapproval of the testimony given by Stormy Daniels in the New York trial involving former President Donald Trump. In a panel discussion on Friday night, Maher reiterated his concerns about the stalled criminal charges against Trump and expressed his skepticism about Daniels' credibility as a witness.

"So it's Stormy or bust," Maher quipped, referencing the lack of progress in other cases against Trump.

He then launched into a critique of Daniels' testimony, claiming that she has contradicted her previous statements and exhibited inconsistencies in her account of the alleged affair with Trump. Maher played clips from his own interview with Daniels in 2018, in which she had stated that she did not consider the incident to be a "Me Too" case.

"You say it's not a Me Too case," Maher reminded Daniels in the 2018 interview.

"It's not a Me Too case," Daniels responded. "I wasn't assaulted. I wasn't attacked, or raped, or coerced or blackmailed…. They tried to shove me in the Me Too box to further their own agenda. And first of all, I didn't want to be part of that because it's not the truth and I'm not a victim in that regard."

Maher contrasted Daniels' earlier statements with her testimony in the Trump trial, where she had used Me Too-related language to describe the encounter.

"That's not what she's saying now," Maher declared. "She's talking about ‘he was bigger and blocking the way.’ It's all the Me Too buzzwords. She said, ‘There was an imbalance of power for sure.’ ‘My hands were shaking so hard.’ She said she blacked out. Blacked out? She's a porn star!… Do you really think she blacked out? A porn star is used to having sex with people she doesn't [like]… I just think she's not a good witness."

Maher's criticism of Daniels' testimony aligns with his previous doubts about the Trump trial's significance. Initially, Maher had expressed enthusiasm for the trial's potential impact on the presidential election, hoping that it could damage Trump's chances of re-election. However, following the conclusion of Daniels' testimony, Maher has become more pessimistic about the trial's outcome.

"This one, I got to say I was always against [it] because I thought of all the ones you're bringing, this is the least serious. … Now I think Trump could lose," Maher said two weeks ago. "I'm turning on this one because it's not what I thought it was going to be. And this David Pecker – I mean, brought down by a Pecker, this guy."

Despite his skepticism about the Trump trial, Maher has praised Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan District Attorney who brought the charges against Trump. Maher believes that Bragg's prosecution of Trump could significantly impact the Democratic Party's reputation and potentially alter the outcome of the presidential election.

"And by the way, if this goes that way and Trump loses, it's going to change the whole election," Maher later said. "A number of independents, a significant number, and Republicans say their vote will change if he is a convicted criminal. And he'll look like a loser, not that he doesn't already, but you know."

"And Alvin Bragg is going to be the rising star of the Democratic Party because everyone said, ‘Not a good idea,’ including me. So, we'll see," he added.
