Amidst accusations of abuse, Billy Ray Cyrus' legal team releases a statement claiming to have received love notes from his soon-to-be ex-wife, Firerose, following his filing for annulment.

Amidst a barrage of allegations and counterclaims in the ongoing divorce proceedings, country music icon Billy Ray Cyrus has unveiled alleged love notes penned by his estranged wife, Firerose, following her claims of abuse.

According to a statement released by Cyrus' lawyers, Rose Palermo and Jason Talley, Firerose allegedly sent a heartfelt note to the singer mere days after he filed for annulment. The note, obtained by Fox News Digital, reads: "I miss you more than I can possibly explain in words Baby. Please let's work this out and not become anything but closer out of this hellish experience. I need you. I love you. I am so sorry."

In addition to the handwritten note, the legal team also shared a screenshot of a text message allegedly sent by Firerose after the couple's split. The message reads: "I am listening to you Baby. I love you. I don't want us to be on different sides fighting a war that nobody wins. I am going to do what you're telling me because you promise me we can talk as soon as I've left and I trust you.

"You have been my best friend in the world every day for over 4 years. 24/7. I miss you terribly," the text continues. "My heart is shattered & I need my best friend right now more than ever."

Cyrus' lawyers raised questions about the veracity of Firerose's abuse claims given the existence of these alleged love notes. They highlighted the contradiction between Firerose's alleged pleas for reconciliation and her subsequent counter-complaint accusing Cyrus of abuse.

Firerose, using her real name Johanna Rosie Hodges, filed a counter complaint on June 14, alleging that Cyrus subjected her to "extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse." She claimed that the singer has substance abuse issues that make him "unpredictable and volatile" and that he filed for the annulment one day before she was set to undergo a preventative double mastectomy.

"Wife was subjected to Husband's persistent drug use accompanied with the consumption of marijuana which made Husband unpredictable and volatile towards Wife," Firerose's attorneys wrote in the complaint.

However, Cyrus' legal team has refuted these accusations, citing the alleged love notes and texts as evidence that contradicts Firerose's narrative. They expressed concern that Firerose may have fabricated the abuse claims to gain leverage in the divorce proceedings.

In his original annulment filing, Cyrus alleged that Firerose's consent to marriage was obtained by fraud. He claims that Firerose concealed the fact that she had been previously married and that she entered the relationship with the sole intention of marrying the singer to advance her music career.

"Throughout the parties dating relationship, the Defendant repeatedly asserted her maiden name was ‘Hodges’ and that that Defendant had never been married," Cyrus' amended and supplemental complaint states.

The complaint further alleges that Cyrus discovered Firerose's deception and that she had made unauthorized charges on his business American Express card, leading him to file for a temporary restraining order on June 13.

Firerose has denied the allegations of fraud and unauthorized charges, claiming that she has had access to the American Express card since 2022.

The divorce proceedings between Cyrus and Firerose continue to unfold amidst a whirlwind of accusations and counterclaims. The outcome of the case will likely determine the fate of their relationship and the division of their assets.
