In the ongoing legal dispute between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over the sale of their French winery, a Los Angeles judge has ruled that Jolie must produce non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) spanning an eight-year period. The ruling stems from a request by Pitt's legal team, seeking to uncover Jolie's justifications for selling her shares of the winery without Pitt's knowledge.
The legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over their French winery, Château Miraval, has taken a new turn with a judge ordering Jolie to hand over non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) as part of the discovery process.
According to documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Judge Lia Martin ruled that Jolie must produce "all non-privileged documents in her possession, custody or control" from 2014 through February 2022 within 60 calendar days. The order came in response to a request by Pitt's attorneys, who seek to uncover Jolie's alleged justifications for refusing to adhere to contractual obligations related to the winery's sale.
A source close to Pitt described the ruling as a "crushing blow" to Jolie's defense, potentially undermining her central argument in the case. Jolie's attorneys, however, expressed willingness to comply with the judge's request.
"Common NDAs are simply not comparable to Mr. Pitt’s last-second demand to try and cover up his personal misconduct," Jolie's attorney, Paul Murphy, told Fox News Digital.
The judge's ruling opens the door to discovery on issues related to Pitt's alleged misconduct, which Jolie's attorneys will pursue. Jolie has previously accused Pitt of a "vindictive campaign" against her since she filed for divorce in 2016.
The former couple purchased a controlling stake in Château Miraval in 2008, spending significant time at the estate during their relationship. In 2021, Jolie sold her company, Nouvel, which owned her 50% interest in Miraval, to Tenute Del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Stoli Group.
Pitt has challenged this sale, claiming it violated a contract between them. Jolie's company, in turn, alleges that Pitt "hijacked" Château Miraval and "wasted" its assets through unnecessary renovations.
In March, the court rejected Jolie's claim that Pitt's lawsuit was frivolous and malicious, paving the way for a trial. The judge's latest ruling further intensifies the legal battle between the two actors.
