Bret Michaels, the legendary Poison frontman, has embarked on countless journeys across the country, leaving an enduring mark on the music scene. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, the rock icon reveals his deep-seated love for the open road, the profound impact of sports and music on his life, and the formidable challenges he has overcome.

"I love traveling," Michaels enthuses. "I would have still been in a cover band even if music hadn't worked out for me. I'm not making that up. Playing music is therapeutic, and I could also be a DJ or a long-haul trucker. I love driving and the open road."

Despite the exhilaration of touring, Michaels acknowledges the sacrifices it entails. "Balancing work and family can be tough," he reflects. "It's difficult to miss special events when your kids are having them, but it's the life we've chosen."

The upcoming biography "Biography: Bret Michaels" has prompted the 61-year-old rocker to reflect on his illustrious career. "It's a deep-dive biography," says Michaels. "We went everywhere with the producers and A&E."

He shares fond memories of hearing about his bandmate Rikki Rockett's basement, where they could start a band. "I took out a loan, got my PA system, and carried it down there in the middle of winter. We hit it off as friends and started playing music," he recalls.

Michaels proudly notes that his daughters, Raine and Jorja, participated in the interviews for the biography special. "I like to think I'm a good father, and we have fun," he says. "I support their goals and dreams."

Beyond his musical and creative endeavors, Michaels remains committed to his health. "I live for endorphins," he declares. "They make me feel good and don't allow me to get bummed out or depressed." His daily routine includes blood sugar checks, insulin shots, and a workout.
