Actress and model Brooke Shields opens up about the bittersweet experience of sending her daughters off to college, candidly sharing her feelings in an emotional social media video.
Brooke Shields, known for her iconic roles in "Blue Lagoon" and "Pretty Baby," is navigating the emotional challenges of being an empty nester after dropping her youngest daughter off at college. In a heartfelt social media video, Shields candidly expressed her sentiments, revealing the difficulty of adjusting to her daughters' absence.
"I sat here a year ago and I watched my big girl leave – I'm back on this porch and I am now officially an empty nester," Shields, 59, stated in the video, referring to her two daughters attending the same college.

With tears streaming down her face, Shields recalled the challenging moment of parting ways with her daughter. "It was really hard and then she started crying… I really started crying and then I cried a good portion of the ride home."
While acknowledging that her daughters would be attending the same school, Shields emphasized that it did not make the transition any easier for her. "They're together at least, but it's really not – it's not easy for the moms," she said. "I mean, it's just so weird. It's so weird that she's not here."

"You think you're ready for it, and then people say, ‘Oh you’re gonna have freedom.’ I just… I don’t know. I’m not really prepared for it," she previously stated to "Good Morning America."
Despite the initial adjustment, Shields finds solace in the closeness of her daughters. "Our girls are so close to us," she told the media outlet. "They're attached in the right way."
