Despite her impressive performance in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark has been left off the Women's Olympic roster, sparking debate about her eligibility. Former WNBA star Rebecca Lobo weighs in on Clark's skills and potential.
Caitlin Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, has taken the league by storm in her debut season with the Indiana Fever. The former Iowa star leads the league in assists, averaging 8.2 per game.
"She's incredible," said Hall of Famer and current basketball analyst Rebecca Lobo. "She's the best passer in the league."

Clark's court vision has been evident since her days at Iowa, where she was known for setting up her teammates with highlight-reel passes. Her unselfish play has translated to the WNBA, where she has already set the league record for assists in a single game with 19.
Despite Clark's impressive performance in the WNBA, she was not selected to the Women's Olympic roster. Colin Cowherd, a sports commentator known for his outspoken opinions, has been critical of the decision.

"Women's Basketball is not ready for Clark," Cowherd said. "She should have been on the Olympic roster."
Cowherd believes that Clark's passing ability and court vision would have made her a valuable asset to the Olympic team. However, the selection process is complex, and there are many factors to consider when choosing a roster.

While Clark's passing skills are undeniable, she has also struggled with turnovers, averaging 5.6 per game. Lobo acknowledges this weakness but believes that it will improve as Clark gains more experience in the WNBA.
"Her turnovers are always going to be a little bit high because of the chances she takes," Lobo said. "She's looking to thread the needle. Oftentimes, it makes it there, and sometimes it doesn't."
Clark is also working on improving her shooting from beyond the arc, which has been inconsistent this season. She is shooting 32.7% from three, but Lobo believes that her shot will come around as she gets more comfortable in the league.
Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese, who has been pegged as Clark's rival, has nothing but praise for her All-Star teammate.
"It's so cool," Reese said. "I know when she gets the ball, I'm running to look for the ball because I know she's gonna throw it."
Reese believes that Clark's passing ability makes her an invaluable player. "She's a great passer," Reese said. "She always puts people in position to score."
Despite her absence from the Olympic roster, Clark has a bright future ahead of her in the WNBA. Her passing skills are already elite, and she is continuing to improve in other areas of her game.
Lobo believes that Clark has the potential to be a superstar in the WNBA. "She's a special player," Lobo said. "I'm excited to see what she can accomplish in her career."
