California's Park Fire has grown to become the 12th largest in state history, destroying hundreds of structures and forcing thousands to evacuate as crews battle the relentless blaze amidst challenging weather conditions.
The Park Fire, raging in northern California, has expanded to cover a staggering 402,042 acres, making it the 12th largest wildfire in state history. As of Monday morning, the inferno remained only 34% contained, with firefighters facing a daunting task in the face of extreme heat and dry conditions.
The blaze has wreaked havoc on the region, destroying an estimated 640 structures and damaging 52 others across Butte and Tehama counties. The relentless flames have forced thousands of residents to evacuate their homes, seeking refuge from the rapidly spreading fire.

Authorities have identified 42-year-old Ronnie Dean Stout II as the alleged perpetrator responsible for sparking the catastrophic fire. Witnesses reported seeing Stout pushing a burning vehicle down an embankment near the Alligator Hole in Bidwell Park, igniting the flames that have since spiraled out of control.
Fire officials have cautioned that unfavorable weather conditions lie ahead, with a dry air mass and rising temperatures expected to exacerbate fire activity. Crews are battling the blaze on the ground and from the air, utilizing helicopters, fire engines, bulldozers, and water tenders to contain the flames.
