Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team, the popular mobile game based on the iconic anime and manga series, is celebrating its seventh anniversary with a series of events offering free transfers, new characters, and more.
The main event, "Up to 100 Transfers! 7th Anniversary Big Thanks: 1 SSR Guaranteed! FREE 10-Player Transfer," will run until June 30th and will give players the chance to obtain a guaranteed SSR character with each 10-player transfer.
In addition to the main event, there will also be two other banner events offering new players in the German national kit for the 2024 season and a free SSR transfer. These banner events will run until June 14th and June 30th, respectively.
Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team is based on the titular anime and manga series that is widely credited with popularising football in Japan. Focusing on titular football whizz Tsubasa Oozora, it follows his journey from amateur to pro player in the FIFA football league.
The mobile game adaptation of Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team was released in 2017 and has since become one of the most popular football games on mobile. The game features a wide range of characters from the anime and manga series, as well as a variety of gameplay modes.
While we know another gacha anniversary may not be the biggest news, there's still some stuff to be parsed here. But given that this is a seventh anniversary one and there are some pretty nice rewards on offer, including free ones, we figured this was more than worth our attention.
And it's an especially big time for Captain Tsubasa fans as another game based on the series, Dream Championship, is set to host its major esports tournament in the coming weeks. So now's the best time to get into some of the titles based on this long-running series.
In the meantime, if you're looking for other games to play, why not check out the latest entry in our regular feature of the top five new mobile games you need to try this week? And if that's somehow not enough for you, there's always our even bigger list with the best mobile games of 2024 (so far).
