Reminiscing about the Golden Era of television, Burnett shared her insights on the evolution of comedy, comparing it to the timeless classics that captivated audiences in the past. "They are funny and character driven, they're not scatological or blue," she remarked, contrasting modern-day comedy with the sophistication of shows like "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "All in the Family."
Burnett acknowledged that society's sensibilities have changed, but emphasized that humor should not be sacrificed for shock value. "I'm not a prude, but sometimes I think some of the stuff today... it's been kind of easy to get a laugh by being a little blue. I don't mind if it's within the character, but if they do it just to say a bad word, I think it's boring, and it's not funny."

Instead, Burnett believes that true comedy lies in the ability to evoke laughter through well-developed characters and clever writing. "Funny is 'The Dick Van Dyke Show.' Funny is Mary, Bob Newhart, 'All in the Family' – and they hold up today."
Despite her reservations about the current state of comedy, Burnett remains uncertain if today's shows measure up to the "classics of the past." However, she is determined to continue her own legacy of bringing joy to audiences.

As Burnett continues to shine on screen, she serves as an inspiration to all who aspire to pursue their passions regardless of age. Her unwavering enthusiasm and love for performing is a testament to the transformative power of laughter and the enduring legacy of true comedic artistry.
