Democratic strategist James Carville believes the presidential contest is far from settled, despite Vice President Kamala Harris holding a slight edge amid a strong economy. Carville emphasizes the significance of swing states and predicts a decisive outcome at the end.
James Carville, a veteran Democratic strategist, has cautioned against complacency in the upcoming presidential election, highlighting the unpredictable nature of electoral contests. In an interview on CNN, Carville emphasized that Vice President Kamala Harris's current advantage does not guarantee victory.
Carville cited the example of the infamous "it's the economy, stupid" phrase, reminding listeners that economic conditions alone do not determine election outcomes. "These things tend to break one way or the other at the end," he said.

The strategist pointed to the crucial role of swing states, arguing that the most likely outcome is for one candidate to secure a decisive majority of these key battlegrounds. "I think it will break at the end. I think someone will carry swing states 5-2 or 6-1," he predicted.
Former Trump campaign adviser David Urban echoed Carville's sentiments, particularly regarding the tight race in Pennsylvania. He cited the state's electorate and the lack of engagement by Harris's campaign in the area. "If she does lose, I think it's because she's kept in bubble wrap on a shelf someplace. They're playing defense, not offense," Urban said.

Carville agreed, emphasizing the importance of candidate visibility and familiarity with voters. "They know who she is and who Donald Trump is. They know what Donald Trump is. They still want to find out what Harris is," he said.
Carville also criticized Harris's lack of media appearances, noting her agreement to participate in the "60 Minutes" program as an exception to the rule. He predicted further surprises ahead of the election, saying, "Something tells me something else is going to happen. I don't know what it is."

Despite Harris's 77-day tenure as the presumptive Democratic nominee, she has yet to hold an official press conference. Carville's cautious approach underscores the importance of remaining engaged and strategic as the election nears.
