Despite railing against rising prices caused by big stores, Sen. Bob Casey has received significant campaign contributions from the very companies he criticizes, including Cargill Inc., Procter and Gamble, and Kellogg's.

Sen. Bob Casey, a longtime Democratic Senator from Pennsylvania, has made "greedflation" and rising prices at stores a key election platform in 2024. However, donor records reviewed by Fox News Digital show that he has benefited from the very big stores he criticizes on the campaign trail.

In an ad published in March, Casey claims that "Bob Casey calls it greedflation, and he's fighting back." He proposes giving the Federal Trade Commission power to punish corporate price gouging and rolling back tax breaks for big corporations.

Another ad, published in April, detailed that chicken, toilet paper, and cereal prices have all increased, pinning blame on "big corporations."

However, Fox News Digital's review of Casey's donor contributions found that despite his claims, he has received:

Casey's

* $9,000 from a PAC representing Cargill Inc., the largest poultry producer in the U.S., since 2017.

* $15,500 from the corporate PAC of Procter and Gamble, the company behind Charmin, since 2017.

Casey's

* A combined $16,000 from PACs associated with Kellogg's since 2017.

In his ads, Casey specifically mentions that chicken prices have increased by 35%, but fails to disclose his campaign's receipt of donations from Cargill Inc. Similarly, he criticizes Procter and Gamble for increasing toilet paper prices by 10% and acquiring profits of $100 million, while overlooking the company's donations to his campaign.

Casey has also criticized cereal producer Kellogg's for "providing the same packaging, smaller box, familiar logo, fewer servings amid the inflation woes under the Biden administration." However, he has received donations from Kellogg's PACs totaling $16,000 since 2017.

Fox News Digital contacted the Casey campaign, asking if he plans to return the donations in light of his criticism of the big companies. The campaign responded that Casey "is an independent fighter who will always stand up for working people against corporate greed and companies ripping off Pennsylvanians."

Despite these donations, Casey has previously called out the corporations in various Senate reports published by his office. He has accused Dawn Ultra for reducing dish soap size but maintaining the same price and Kellogg's for raising prices on its products by over 14% between Q2 2022 and Q2 2023.

Casey's criticism of inflation and corporate greed has become a key campaign issue in the lead-up to the 2024 election. He is facing Republican challenger Dave McCormick, who is also a West Point graduate and Bronze Star recipient.

Polls show Casey ahead of McCormick, though the Republican challenger has recently closed in on the Democrat as the election season intensifies.
