Retired Brigadier General Rob Spalding exposes China's clandestine strategy to undermine the United States' defense industry by restricting access to critical materials.
Retired Brigadier General Rob Spalding, a former White House National Security Council Senior Director for Strategic Planning, has raised the alarm about China's discreet actions to disrupt the supply chain of materials essential for US weapons production. Spalding's warnings come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and concerns over the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Spalding contends that China is engaged in a "quiet shutdown" of material exports to the United States, jeopardizing the availability of critical components needed for weapons manufacturing. This move could have severe consequences for US military readiness.

Highlighting the issue, Republican vice presidential candidate Senator JD Vance of Ohio has denounced the Biden administration's alleged support for Chinese companies that challenge the American auto industry. Vance specifically cited the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which he claims has made Chinese firms like Gotion eligible for taxpayer-funded subsidies.
Vance accused Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris of endangering national security by enabling Chinese investments in the United States. He emphasized concerns raised by former Obama administration officials about the potential threats posed by Gotion's planned electric vehicle battery plant in Michigan.

Vance's remarks underscore the concerns that the Democratic Party's policies may inadvertently benefit China at the expense of American interests. He contrasted his own pro-business stance, echoing President Trump's "drill, baby, drill" mantra, with the Democrats' alleged bias towards environmental policies.
Spalding also commented on the upcoming presidential debate between Trump and Harris, suggesting that Trump's insistence on sticking to the original debate rules stems from his recognition of Harris's perceived weaknesses.

Additionally, Vance highlighted Mark Zuckerberg's recent revelation about pressure from the Biden administration to censor certain content on Facebook, particularly regarding COVID-19. Vance condemned this censorship as inappropriate interference in the political process.
The allegations of Chinese economic warfare and political interference by the Biden administration have raised serious concerns among Republican candidates and national security experts. Spalding's warnings and Vance's criticisms highlight the growing debate over the potential risks posed by China's influence in the United States.
