Claremore Tornado Receives Initial EF-2 Rating

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tulsa has issued an initial rating of EF-2 for the tornado that struck Claremore, Oklahoma, on Saturday night. Preliminary assessments indicate that the tornado had wind speeds of up to 115 mph, causing significant damage throughout the community.
CLAREMORE, Okla. — In the aftermath of the devastating tornado that struck Claremore, Oklahoma, on Saturday night, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Tulsa has issued an initial rating of EF-2 for the twister. Based on preliminary assessments, the tornado is estimated to have possessed wind speeds of up to 115 mph, wreaking havoc across the community.
Initial reports indicate that the tornado caused extensive damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure, particularly in the southern and eastern parts of Claremore. According to local officials, the storm also led to the displacement of numerous residents, many of whom sought shelter at temporary evacuation centers established by emergency responders.
