Grant Marcuccio, a 32-year-old climber from Whitefish, Montana, was discovered deceased after suffering an apparent fall while hiking in Glacier National Park.
Grant Marcuccio, a talented and experienced mountaineer, tragically lost his life in a fall while hiking in Glacier National Park. The 32-year-old Whitefish, Montana, resident had separated from his group to summit McPartland Peak alone on August 18 when he vanished.
After receiving an alert on Sunday evening that Marcuccio had failed to rendezvous at the designated location, rangers and search teams immediately commenced a search operation. Two Bear Air Rescue flights were deployed, and search teams scoured the area for any sign of Marcuccio.

On Sunday, Marcuccio's body was located from the air about "one-third of a mile east of McPartland Peak below the ridgeline between Heavens Peak and McPartland Peak." The National Park Service (NPS) stated that the cause of death is still under investigation, but traumatic injuries and the location of the body indicate a fall.
The NPS expressed its deepest condolences to Marcuccio's family and requested that the public respect their privacy during this difficult time. Rescuers had been tirelessly searching for Marcuccio since Monday, utilizing all available resources to locate him.
