Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's recent attempt to blame women for her 2016 election loss has drawn criticism from conservative commentator Tammy Bruce, who contends that Clinton's strategy has "failed."

Speaking on Fox News, Bruce criticized Clinton's comments that women had failed to turn out to vote in 2016, arguing that this placed the responsibility for the loss on women rather than on Clinton herself and the Democratic Party.

"The Democratic Party has a problem with this issue," Bruce asserted. "They cannot continue to alienate women by saying, 'You didn't vote for us, so it's your fault.'"

Clinton's comments have also raised questions about the Democratic Party's handling of the abortion issue. Clinton has previously stated that abortion should be "safe, legal, and rare," while some Democrats have advocated for a more expansive approach that includes late-term abortions and federal funding for the procedure.

Bruce argued that this discrepancy has alienated some women and made it difficult for the Democratic Party to effectively address a key issue for their base.

"The Democratic Party needs to get its act together on the abortion issue," Bruce said. "They cannot continue to have this internal conflict and expect women to be happy with it."

Clinton's recent comments come as former President Bill Clinton prepares to host a fundraising dinner for President Biden in Virginia. The event is part of a multi-president fundraising strategy that has been successful in the past but could face pressure from former President Trump's strong fundraising efforts in April.

Despite Biden's lead in cash on hand, Trump's campaign has boosted its fundraising with a record-setting event that brought in $50.5 million from top GOP donors. The Biden campaign has highlighted its small dollar donations but has also criticized Trump for focusing on "courting billionaire donors."

Bruce's criticism of Clinton's comments and the Democratic Party's handling of the abortion issue reflect the challenges that Democrats face in addressing a key issue for their base while balancing the views of different factions within the party.
