CNN analyst Natasha Alford slammed Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance for trying to approach Vice President Kamala Harris on a Wisconsin airport tarmac, alleging that he was attempting to "intimidate" her.

CNN analyst Natasha Alford launched a fiery tirade against Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance, accusing him of trying to intimidate Vice President Kamala Harris on a Wisconsin airport tarmac. The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 12, as Harris arrived at the Chippewa Valley Regional airport for a campaign appearance.

As Vance approached a press gaggle awaiting Harris, he remarked, "I just wanted to check out my future plane," and then proceeded to criticize Harris for dodging formal interviews and press conferences. Alford, appearing on CNN, expressed outrage at Vance's actions.

"How dare you, right? This is the vice president of the United States," Alford declared. "I think so many people will be turned off by this."

Alford's comments were met with interjections from her colleagues, with one off-screen voice exclaiming, "Stalker." Alford then drew parallels to a memorable moment in the 2016 presidential election, when Donald Trump followed Hillary Clinton around on stage during a debate.

"Literally, the stalking, it's like Donald Trump walking behind Hillary Clinton in the debate," Alford said. "Again, for women, this is a huge election for women, women's rights, our sense of selves, our sense of not having people control our bodies and not having people control us."

Alford continued, "And so that's like stepping into her territory. It's this very, the physicality of it is supposed to send a message. And I cannot wait until she takes that debate stage so she can fight back."

In a social media post, Alford reiterated her criticism of Vance, emphasizing the lack of respect he showed towards Harris. "JD Vance trying to confront Kamala Harris on the tarmac is about showing as little respect for her as possible, especially for her role as VP," she wrote.

Alford also suggested that Vance's behavior was creepy, adding, "Women who've had men try to intimidate them will recognize this behavior. This could be a campaign about policy and substance, but it continues to be about stunts. It's not the flex he wanted it to be."

Vance's actions sparked widespread condemnation from Democratic and media circles. Many criticized his approach as disrespectful and unprofessional, while some suggested that it could be seen as a form of harassment.

The incident underscores the heightened political climate in the United States as the midterm elections draw near. With both parties vying for control of Congress, it remains to be seen whether such confrontations will become more commonplace in the coming months.
