Scott Jennings blames his own network, as well as other sources, for allowing former President Trump's words to be twisted and taken out of context by the Harris campaign.

CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings has launched a scathing attack on his own network, accusing it of enabling the Harris campaign's mischaracterization of former President Trump's rhetoric.

Following an incident where Trump was rushed off a golf course due to a possible assassination attempt, Jennings expressed outrage that the rhetoric emanating from Biden and Harris was being blamed for the incident.

During a panel discussion hosted by CNN's Abby Phillip, Jennings accused Democratic politicians and commentators of fabricating lies about Trump to radicalize their base.

"When I see what Democratic politicians and commentators say about Donald Trump, and their platform is built on a bunch of lies, frankly, that are designed to radicalize a political base, it makes me wonder… How much do they really care about the violence that you and I both agree is terrible?" Jennings asked.

He specifically criticized the Harris campaign for fearmongering about the potential consequences of Trump regaining the presidency.

"The underpinning of her campaign, I mean, she repeats it herself, ‘Trump will be a dictator on day one.’ I mean, this country fights dictators. That‘s what our history — we fight dictators," Jennings said, dismissing the claims as absurd.

Jennings also pointed out that Trump had explicitly stated during a town hall with Sean Hannity that he did not intend to become a dictator.

"Other than day one - we’re closing the border, and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I’m not a dictator.’" Jennings quoted Trump as saying.

Jennings further debunked the claim that Trump had predicted a "bloodbath" if he lost the election, emphasizing that Trump was referring to the potential economic consequences for the automotive industry.

"Use of the word ‘bloodbath’ when he was talking about vehicle manufacturing jobs in the United States, Vice President Harris improperly and unfairly mischaracterized that as him saying there would be a bloodbath if he were elected," Phillip confirmed.

Jennings argued that these false narratives are part of a deliberate strategy by the Democratic Party to undermine Trump.

"I know you have interviewed and had people out here and have watched the same coverage I have. The ‘bloodbath’ garbage, it is a pillar of the Democratic campaign against Trump, as is ‘dictator,’ as is ‘eliminate the U.S. Constitution,’" Jennings said.

Jennings' powerful condemnation of his own network and other media outlets has sparked a heated debate about the role of media bias in shaping public discourse and the potential consequences of mischaracterizing political rhetoric.
