CNN Correspondent Condemns Trump's "Fight!" Utterance After Assassination Attempt
CNN Special Correspondent Jamie Gangel expressed her disapproval of former President Trump's utterance of "Fight!" to his supporters following an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
Shortly after a gunman opened fire at the event, injuring multiple attendees, Trump was seen bleeding from his ear as Secret Service agents whisked him off the stage. Amidst the chaos, Trump reportedly raised his fist and repeatedly shouted "Fight!" to the cheers of his supporters.

However, Gangel took issue with Trump's choice of words, stating: "I do want to say there was one thing that when I watched the tape, I found odd because of all of the heated rhetoric, and that is after he was hit, former President Trump got up and said, ‘fight, fight, fight,’"
Gangel elaborated on her concerns, saying: "I think what we’re hearing from people is that’s not the message that we want to be sending right now. We want to tamp it down."

Gangel's remarks garnered criticism from some conservatives, who applauded Trump's resilience in the face of danger. However, many others echoed her sentiment, believing that Trump's language could potentially escalate tensions and incite further violence.
The assassination attempt left one attendee dead and two others critically injured. President Biden, after addressing the nation and denouncing the "sick" attack, spoke to Trump on the phone to express his support. Other former presidents and bipartisan leaders also condemned the shooting and wished Trump a speedy recovery.
Trump was released from a Pittsburgh-area hospital late Saturday and is reported to be in stable condition. Authorities are investigating the shooting as a possible assassination attempt.
