This poll, which has gone viral, has been used as evidence by pundits and as ammunition by Trump and his team of the waning of the perceived polling bump that Biden enjoyed coming out of his well-regarded and aggressive State of the Union address in early March. Anderson points to recent Fox News polls in the crucial swing states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, indicating "signs of a little bit of progress for Biden, but again, it's really small."

Some argue that it was simply a natural return of Democratic voters, while others attribute it to the address's success in mitigating concerns about Biden's age and fitness for office.
