Georgia is the unanimous No. 1 after a dominant win over Clemson, while Ohio State's slow start against Akron raises concerns. Here's a close look at the updated top 25 following Week 1.

Georgia kicked off the 2024 season in emphatic fashion, holding the 24th-ranked Clemson Tigers to a mere three points. The Bulldogs have now won 43 of their last 45 games, with their only losses coming against Nick Saban's Alabama Crimson Tide.

Meanwhile, Ohio State underwhelmed in their opener against Akron, a team that hasn't won more than two games in a season since 2018. The Buckeyes trailed 3-0 at one point and allowed Akron to score twice as many points as Georgia did against Clemson.

Ole Miss made a statement in their season opener, crushing FCS opponent Furman 76-0. Jaxson Dart threw for 418 yards and five touchdowns in the first half alone, while wideout Tre Harris had eight catches for 179 yards and two scores.

Alabama had no trouble dispatching Western Kentucky in their season opener, winning 63-0. True freshman wideout Ryan Williams emerged as a breakout star with two catches for 139 yards and both receptions resulting in touchdowns.

Notre Dame is one of four programs to secure a top-25 victory in Week 1, defeating Texas A&M 23-13. Marcus Freeman's team beat the Aggies by the same margin that No. 3 Oregon lost to FCS opponent Idaho.

USC lived up to expectations in their matchup with No. 24 LSU, emerging victorious with a 27-20 triumph. Miller Moss threw for 378 yards and a touchdown, leading the Trojans to their first 2-0 start since 2017.

Penn State's defense was expected to be strong, but the offense showed significant improvement in their win over West Virginia. Drew Allar threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns, giving the Nittany Lions a balanced attack.

Oregon struggled in their opener, narrowly defeating Idaho 24-14. The Ducks led by just three points late in the fourth quarter, a disappointing result considering Idaho's limited history of success.

Missouri's offense put on a show against FCS opponent Murray State, winning 51-0. Quarterback Brady Cook and running back Luther Burden both had big performances, giving the Tigers an early confidence boost.

Oklahoma defeated Temple 51-3, but the performance raised questions about the Sooners' potential. Missouri, who beat an FCS opponent 51-0, has been ranked higher by some analysts, despite Oklahoma's more impressive win over an FBS team.

Utah joined the illustrious group of teams that have pitched a shutout in Week 1, blanking Southern Utah 49-0. The Utes are one of the only Big 12 teams to start the season without allowing a single point.

Tennessee put on an offensive clinic in their opener, routing Chattanooga 69-3. The Volunteers scored 52 unanswered points after trailing 3-0 early in the game.

Michigan, the defending national champions, looked shaky in their victory over Fresno State. Quarterback Davis Warren struggled, raising concerns about the offense's readiness for bigger challenges.

Oklahoma State demonstrated their dominance over FCS teams by crushing South Dakota State 44-20. The Cowboys doubled the FCS opponent's score and added a remainder, sending a message to the rest of the Big 12.

Miami made a statement in the state of Florida by defeating the Gators 41-17. Cam Ward had an impressive debut, throwing for 385 yards and three touchdowns. The Hurricanes' defense also stood tall, shutting down Graham Mertz and the Florida offense.
