Friday's top clash pits No. 10 Michigan against Washington in Seattle. Historically, underdogs have struggled in such matchups, with only seven of 18 winning outright in the last 25 seasons. However, 13 of the 18 covered the spread.

UCLA travels to No. 7 Penn State on Saturday, boasting a dismal 0-3 record against Power Four teams this season. The Bruins have also been outscored by 67 points against Power Four opponents, the second-worst mark among Power Four teams.

In another intriguing matchup, No. 9 Missouri visits No. 25 Texas A&M. Since 2000, the Aggies have struggled when hosting top-10 teams at Kyle Field, boasting a mere 3-11 record.

Pitt, aiming for a perfect 5-0 start for the first time since 1991, faces North Carolina, which has had a tumultuous past two weeks, surrendering 70 points to James Madison and squandering a 20-0 lead against Duke.

Underdogs have been thriving in recent service academy matchups, covering 18 of the last 23 games. Navy and Air Force face off, with Navy holding a 4-0 record at Air Force.

If Purdue upsets Wisconsin, it would be the fourth time in five years that the Badgers have a losing record after five games, a stark contrast to their impressive run from 1991-2019.

Auburn's Hugh Freeze has had a disappointing run against FBS opponents, winning just four of his last 14 and nine of his last 12 against Power Four teams. The Tigers have also struggled against Georgia away from Auburn, scoring only four touchdowns in seven games while being outscored 216-54.

Iowa has endured a troubling streak, being shut out in its last three games against ranked opponents and losing by a combined score of 92-0. The Hawkeyes have also lost seven straight games against ranked foes by a total of 235-44.

Indiana, aiming for a 6-0 start for the first time since 1967, takes on Northwestern.

No. 12 Ole Miss faces South Carolina, where under Shane Beamer, the Gamecocks have pulled three upsets against top-15 teams and covered five of the six games.

Rutgers, mired in a 15-game conference losing streak as an underdog, faces Nebraska.

West Virginia takes on Oklahoma State, which last failed to have a winning record after six games in 2007.

No. 14 Clemson visits Florida State, who has lost twice as a home underdog of over 14 points by a combined margin of 104-25.

Lincoln Riley's teams have won 10 of 14 games as favorites away from home since 2021, but they are only 3-11 against the spread.

Iowa State, on the cusp of a 5-0 start for the first time since 1980, faces Baylor.

Florida, facing its fourth straight home game as an underdog, hosts UCF. From 1992-2011, Florida was an underdog in just four of 117 home games against FBS teams.

Duke visits Georgia Tech, marking only the eighth time since 1979 that a 5-0 or better team has been at least a seven-point underdog to an unranked opponent.

UNLV, favored over a Power Four team for the first time since 2008, hosts Syracuse.

Miami's Mario Cristobal, who lost as a ranked Oregon coach against Justin Wilcox's unranked Cal squad in 2020, faces Wilcox once again. In those three games, Cristobal's Oregon teams averaged a meager 19.3 points.
