As the first half progressed, Paraguay gradually gained ground and began to create danger through the speed of Miguel Almirón and Ángel Romero. A shot by Alberto Espínola forced goalkeeper David Ospina to make a good save to keep the match goalless.

In the second half, Colombia continued to dominate the match but still struggled to break through the Paraguayan defense. However, in the 61st minute, Luis Fernando Díaz broke the deadlock with a superb individual play. The Porto winger received the ball on the left wing, cut inside and unleashed a powerful shot that flew into the back of the net, leaving goalkeeper Antony Silva with no chance.

The goal gave Colombia a much-needed boost, and they began to control the match with greater authority. In the 70th minute, Gustavo Cuéllar doubled the Colombian lead with a header from a corner kick. The midfielder took advantage of poor marking by the Paraguayan defense to secure a comfortable advantage for his team.

Paraguay refused to give up, and in the 80th minute, Ángel Romero brought them back into the match with a powerful shot from outside the area. The goal gave the Paraguayans hope, and they pushed forward in search of an equalizer.

In the final minutes, Paraguay pressed hard for an equalizer, but the Colombian defense held firm. David Ospina made several key saves, and Yerry Mina and Dávinson Sánchez were outstanding in the center of the defense.

In the end, Colombia managed to hold on to their victory and secure three vital points in their quest to qualify for the next round of the Copa América. With this victory, Colombia now leads Group D, which also includes Ecuador and Venezuela.

The Colombian team's next match will be against Venezuela on Thursday, June 17, at the Olímpico Pedro Ludovico Teixeira Stadium in Goiânia. Paraguay, meanwhile, will face Ecuador on the same day at the Arena Pantanal in Cuiabá.
