Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross has condemned Rep. Cori Bush's concession speech rant against AIPAC, calling it "kind of Trumpian" and making her the "sorest loser."

Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross has joined the chorus of voices criticizing Rep. Cori Bush's concession speech rant against the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Appearing on CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper," Cross characterized Bush's remarks as "completely ridiculous" and "kind of Trumpian." She also drew parallels between Bush's attack on AIPAC and Rep. Jamal Bowman's similar criticism of the organization after losing his primary in June.

Cross emphasized that AIPAC's actions were not motivated by anti-Semitism but by opposition to Bush's positions on specific issues, such as the debt ceiling and infrastructure. She also defended Bush's opponent, Wesley Bell, against allegations that he is less progressive than Bush.

"As somebody who has, full disclosure, has been a longtime friend of Wesley Bell, I've seen his work," Cross said. "I've worked with him, particularly when it came to him being a progressive prosecutor and when he ran that race. He is not someone who is by any means a conservative."

Cross believes that Bush's defeat stems from her unwillingness to moderate her views and her harsh attacks on her opponent. "I think that she swung way too far to the left and she was not willing to come back to moderate in any type of way and is probably the sorest loser that I've seen recently," Cross stated.

Bell's campaign received substantial support from AIPAC's super PAC, the United Democracy Project, which spent $8.5 million to oust Bush. Bush has vowed to continue fighting AIPAC, declaring in her concession speech that "all they did is radicalize me, so they need to be afraid."

The backlash against Bush's rant comes amid growing scrutiny of the "Squad," a group of progressive Democratic lawmakers that includes Bush and Bowman. Critics have accused the Squad of being divisive and anti-Israel.

Cross's remarks underscore the widening rift within the Democratic Party between moderate and progressive factions. The party faces a significant challenge in balancing the demands of its diverse constituencies and maintaining its electoral viability.
